Parades, P and David Dewhurst

I spent Saturday morning judging marching bands and other marching units at the local parade. I judged dance troupes, cheerleaders and pep squads at the youth parade Thursday. (Youth parade includes entries from elementary, middle and high school and dance places.) Dan'l went along with me and handed out participation ribbons to all who participated as they passed by the grand stands. He was so good at it (hamming it up) the parade people asked him to do it again. That meant Dan'l handed David Dewhurst, George P. and almost everyone else their ribbons. He wasn't allowed to hand Paul Rodríguez a ribbon, but that's OK because the kid they picked to do that handed it to the driver anyway. Not like it matters. Rodríguez is no Edward James Olmos.

Anyway, Jenny asked for deb pictures and I tried to take as many as I could. I also included a photo of Princess Pocahontas. I don't want to say any more because I fear that I might be banned from any more future events related to this yearly celebration.

I'm not so sure I'll be invited anyway. One of the judges was very overbearing and looking over at my sheets as I wrote my scores and would say crap like: "They're very animated; they're marching in straight lines; they look like they're asleep; why didn't you write United South? Gaby doesn't look at the numbers; he's going to get confused." If that wasn't bad enough, I heard her repeating two jokes I made on Thursday and passed them off as her own.

By the way, Happy Birthday, Jenny and Happy Birthday to Elsa.

Awww, a birthday shout-out!

Thanks for the Deb-pictures. They look like little Barbies. As I believe I've mentioned to you before, I'm disgusted and jealous all at once.
