On our way to Palo Duro, we stopped at Sonic in Dimmit, Texas, for ice cream/cherry limeades. At the same time, a group of women were starting their Relay for Life fund raiser. Richard spotted this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air and suggested to Dan'l he go check it out. He did and the ladies offered him a ride. Without a second thought, Dan'l popped in the car and rode around Sonic in a classic car. Permission be damned. (Story of his life.)
This photo was taken alongside the general manager/managing editor/reporter of the local newspaper after she took pictures of the pig carcass and its outside insides that caused traffic to back up. Yet again, Dan'l gets his picture in the newspaper.
We stopped at Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge on our way to Palo Duro. Believe it or not, Dan'l is sporting a fake smile. He was huffy because he wanted a milkshake or a malt or something, but our order was mixed up because the ice cream machine was broken. From the way he was acting, you'd think it was the end of the world. I think he was tired.
Fortunately, he felt better once we started moving along. He even felt good enough to chase a few turkeys to try to take their pictures.
You can't see the turkeys in this picture, but I like it because it reminds me of this Bigfoot picture.
We eventually made it to Palo Duro Canyon, but just in time to see "Texas."
Don't be sad. I'll post more pictures later!

You had to go bring up Sonic didn't you.
Your vacation looks awesome. Did you go to the Selena museum? When are you going to go to the damn Selena museum. It's the only thing worth seeing in all of Texas. I've heard.
I plan to visit the Selena museum next month, alone. It's one of those things I have to do alone because I can't be distracted.
I want to go on vacation with you. I love me some Daniel. He's so cute - can I keep him?
