I knew exactly what she was talking about and it raised my dander. I politely said, "Two years ago my husband was diagnosed with head and throat cancer. The radiation killed his salivary glands and has to carry a bottle of water with him all the time because his mouth gets dry. Dan'l is emulating his father. I'd rather it be water than smoking. This is probably more information than you or anyone else needs to know."
She said, "Well, it's because ..." and I said, "Yes, I know diabetes and all that. I'm aware of the warning signs. Thank you."
Grr. So if anyone moves to Laredo, make sure you don't let your child walk anywhere because he'll get picked up by the cops and receive a police escort home and please limit his fluid intake to Coca-Cola products (that's who U.I.S.D. has a contract with). Otherwise, your child has diabetes. By the way, when did nurses start diagnosing?

I haven't noticed any of these symptoms, especially not the unexplained weight loss. Ugh, I can't tell you how frustrated I am with these bitches who confuse concern with meddling.

You should have told her it wasn't water, it was vodka. And he drinks because they're stupid.
Has he been studying too, getting good grades? We might have to diagnose him as smart. Or does he use good manners, say please and thank you? Let's diagnose him as abnormal (aka polite).
